LOCAL 1102 PAY PLAN KEY (UNION-PROVIDED REFERENCE)
Source: Rank labels derived from the prior CBA (2021-2024) Exhibit 50A, cross-checked against the current CBA Exhibit 50A structure. Confirmed by IAFF Local 1102, July 2026. This key contains no pay amounts; current pay amounts are in Exhibit 50A of the current CBA.

RANK TO PAY RANGE KEY
The bi-weekly pay schedule in Exhibit 50A of the CBA lists pay by Range number and Step. To find a member's base pay in Exhibit 50A, use the Range for their rank:
- A Firefighter's pay is Range 71. (What range is a firefighter paid at? Range 71.)
- An Engineer's (Driver/Engineer's) pay is Range 72. (What range is an engineer paid at? Range 72.)
- A Lieutenant's pay is Range 73 or Range 74 (including Lieutenant/Combined). (What range is a lieutenant paid at? Range 73/74.)
- A Captain's pay is Range 75. (What range is a captain paid at? Range 75.)
- A District Chief's pay is Range 76. (What range is a district chief paid at? Range 76.)

SPECIAL LONGEVITY SUB-RANGES
Three-digit sub-ranges are the special longevity rates of the base rank:
- In the current pay schedule (effective 10/2/2025): a sub-range ending in 1 (731, 741, 751, 761) is the 10-year special longevity rate; ending in 2 (732, 742, 752, 762) is the 15-year rate; ending in 3 (733, 743, 753, 763) is the 20-year rate.
- In the prior schedule (through 2024): sub-ranges ending in 1 were the 10-year rate and ending in 2 were the 20-year rate.

STEP PROGRESSION
- Employees advance one step per year of service within their range.
- Upon promotion to a higher rank, an employee may regress one step in the new range, as provided in the CBA.

WHAT A FULL PAY CALCULATION REQUIRES
Base pay from Exhibit 50A (rank's Range + current Step) is only part of actual pay. The CBA also provides assignment- and certification-based additions (for example, paramedic certification pay and ALS transport / ALS non-transport unit assignment pay, which differ by unit), plus overtime, out-of-class, and other premiums, each defined in their own CBA articles. A precise pay figure requires knowing: rank, years of service (step), certifications (e.g., paramedic), and unit assignment.
